Sarab Sigh entered service 10th November 1907, commissioned Jemadar 29th October 1914, Woordie-Major, Ressaidar 27th November 1919, Risaldar 1st April 1921. He qualified at the School of Musketry, Qualified in the Hotchkiss Gun, Army Veterinary School Certificate and Certificate in English. Risaldar Sarab Singh served in Mesopotamia during WWI, in Afghanistan on the North West Frontier from May to Sept 1919 and then in Waziristan from Oct 19 to May 21. On the 1st January 1936 he was awarded the Order of British India, 2nd Class, at which time he was Honorary Risaldar Major.

Orders, Medals and Decorations, Viceroy Commissioned Officers, Indian General Service Medal 1908-35, one clasp, North West Frontier 1930-31, awarded to Sowar Tara Chand, Hodson’s Horse, (505 Sowar Tara Chand. Hodson’s Horse), toned very fine.
Sowar Tara Chand, later commissioned War Substantive Risaldar. Entered service on the 30th November 1920 and commissioned Jemadar on the 1st March 1938. Shown as War Substantive Risldr in the 1944 Indian Army List and still serving in 1946. He was a qualified Instructor in Driving and Maintenance; he qualified on the A.F.V armaments course, the small arms instructors’ course and the army Veterinary course. War Service: North West Frontier of India 1930.
